Forensic Handwriting Investigation

BLACK'S LAW DICTIONARY: FORGERY IS "THE FALSE MAKING OR MATERIAL ALTERING, WITH INTENT TO DEFRAUD, OF ANY WRITING WHICH, IF GENUINE, MIGHT APPARENTLY BE OF LEGAL EFFICACY OR THE FOUNDATION OF A LEGAL LIABILITY".

Document examiners follow accepted methods of forgery detection.

Document examiners must be able to draw correct conclusions about questioned documents.

Document examiners must be able to present the evidence clearly to the client and in a court of law.

I will thoroughly investigate questioned documents using scientific and proven procedures in order to state the results in a letter of opinion and a report of findings to the client

My letter of opinion is based upon careful study of the documents.

My report of findings is a statement of the evidence I have discovered in my examination of the documents.

Some of these questioned documents can be:

  • Counterfeit documents, forged checks and bank signature cards.
  • Signature identification on contracts and other business forms.
  • Signature identification on wills and letters.
  • Disguised writing on all types of documents.
  • Authentication of documents with handwriting comparison.
  • Authenticatiion of documents with alterations including erasures and indented writing.

I will ask you for samples of handwriting to start comparisons. If you have a problem finding comparison handwriting, I can supply you with a list of 101 places to search for handwriting documents.

I will send you instructions on how to take request writing.
